Our preconcert tailgate party this Friday, August 10th 6-7pm will be a fantastic opportunity to eat, bond with fellow band families, AND get to know more about the Upbeat Club and what we do. While you are eating look for the tables and come over for more info or to sign up for one (or more) of these fabulous opportunities (including but not limited to):
Third Quarter Snacks: EVERY STUDENT needs to bring two 2 liters of soda to the tailgate party for collection. (no red soda please) This is used for home football game snacks and other band functions. During the season each section will be required to bring cookies to a home game. Watch announcements for section assignments. Sign up to serve 3rd quarter snacks at a home game.
Macy’s Pass Sales (15): adult and student volunteers needed to sell Macy’s passes at Jr High and HS Orientations: WFC 8/13 6:30, WFC 8/14 6:30, WMC 8/15 10, 1, 6:30, RJS 8/15 1-4, PJS 8/15 1-4, RJS 8/16 9-12, PJS 8/16 9-12
Bus Chaperones (15): enjoy free rides, no parking, free admission, and fantastic seats at competitions! Volunteer for all or “pick a pack.”
Tag Day Adult Drivers (60): Saturday 9/8 9-12am Enjoy a morning drive with 4-6 teens. Other volunteer roles available, come look.
Cedar Point Chaperones (~20): 10/6-10/7 all the responsibilities of a bus chaperone plus overnight accommodations and a personal relationship with ~12 students. Must pass required background check. Refer to the posting on this policy, click here for more info on background checks.
Spirit Wear: stop and check out the new products for this season. Stock up on all your spirit wear needs for sale or preorder. Buy a MACY’S SHOPPING PASS ($5) and “PROUD PARENT” shirt while you’re there.
Uniforms: still looking for donations of previously owned khaki shorts, red uniform polos, and any other band uniform parts. Bring them with you and we’ll collect them to be used as “trades” and spares for current members!
Tux Shirt Sale: every student in concert band, except Winds girls, needs a tux shirt with their concert uniform. Beat the rush and buy from us. Large selection of used shirts in many sizes, $10 each. All proceeds benefit the band.
Upbeat Club: our first meeting is 8/21 7:30pm in the band room. We meet the 3rd Tuesday of each month. We are a parent volunteer group that supports all band activities. If you have a student in any band grades 7-12 you are a member. Come talk to us and learn more about what we do and how to get involved.
