Upbeat Updates 2/14 – (Patty Burger Premier, Jazz ‘n Cakes, Upbeat meeting, Scrip, MB DVD)

Private Premier Fundraiser at Patty Burger a Huge Success — $2,000 Donation!!!  –  Thanks to everyone for all of their support and for attending the “Private Premier” Fundraiser at Patty Burger on Tuesday night!  With only 4 days notice, hundreds of flyers were passed out in band classes at the High School, Freshman School, Plains and Ridge, as well as, daily announcements at the schools and email blasts to the families.

Just over 400 Lakota West band students, families, friends and neighbors showed up in the cold on Tuesday night to stand in line to support the Lakota West marching band, concert band, jazz band, color guard and winter guard programs.  Things went relatively smoothly, except for a couple of misplaced orders, for the Patty Burger staff who greeted everyone with a smile. Patty Burger even had to apologetically turn a couple of families away at the end of the night since there had been no way to anticipate the number of attendees at our “Private Premier”.

At the end of the night, our “Private Premier” raised a little over $300 for the band programs – not bad for an evening enjoying delicious gourmet burgers, fries and shakes and spending time with other band families.  On Thursday, Gregg Majewski, the owner of Patty Burger made a special appearance at the High School to thank Mr. Snyder and Mr. Chumley and the students for their support of the “Private Premier” at Patty Burger. However, instead of a check for $300, Mr. Majewski presented the Lakota West bands with a check for $2,000 on behalf of Patty Burger. Mr. Majewski said that Patty Burger was thrilled to support such an amazing and talented group of students!

Please be sure to thank Mr. Majewski for his generous donation the next time you are in Patty Burger enjoying one of their delicious gourmet burgers!
