- Monday, December 15: Red, White, & Winds Holiday Concert & 50/50 Raffle drawing
- Tuesday, December 16: Freshman Holiday Concert
ROSE PARADE INFORMATION: Parent meeting on December 9, 7pm in Lakota West Auditorium. Please come knowing your student’s “flight code” (e.g. Indy 60, Dayton 25) – this will make it quicker to get key handouts for your student. This information is posted in the band room hallway. Chaperones will be available for you to meet at the end of the meeting. Student attendance welcome but not required.
Rose Parade Medication and Forms Turn in: All student medications, parent authorization for administration, and medication forms for use during Rose Parade trip should already be turned into Robin Robinson (school nurse). If they are not, please contact Robin Robinson at robin.robinson@lakotaonline.com immediately to schedule an appointment to turn in any remaining student medications and forms.
Rose Parade Uniform Packing Instructions: CLICK HERE for uniform packing instructions. Turn in is Monday, December 8 and Wednesday, December 10 after MB practice! Please follow uniform packing instructions exactly so your student has everything they need in California.
Interested in Rose Parade Photos? Photos of the band may be pre-ordered at 30% discount at Rose Parade Parent Information meeting, or before or after Freshman and Red, White, & Winds Holiday Concerts. Payment required at time of order placement by cash or check payable to Lakota West Upbeat Club only. We must place one order paid with one check for all of Lakota West to get the discounted price. - 12 x 18 photo of full band in front of the Rose Bowl Stadium for $25
- 12 x 18 overview shot of band marching up Orange Grove towards television corner for $15
- Both 12 x 18 photos above for $40
- Action photos taken at Bandfest will be available online from Jolesch Enterprises after the event.
Swing Dance is this Friday, December 12 – CLICK HERE to sign up for a volunteer time slot! 27 volunteer slots are still open & help is very much needed.
Swing Dance: Looking for a great way to celebrate the holiday season with friends or relatives? Invite them to join you at Swing Dance from 7:30-10pm on Friday, December 12 for the great sounds of the Freshman Jazz Band (~7:45pm performance), Lakota West Combo (~8:35pm performance), and Lakota West Jazz Ensemble (~9:20pm performance). Swing Dance instruction is included as well as swing dance demonstration by the Lakota West Swing Dancers! Lakota West’s Café is transformed into a jazz club for this great event. Attendees include everyone from high school students to grandparents! Tickets are $10 and are available at the door.
50/50 Raffle: Our drawing for the grand prize – and three additional prizes – is less than 2 weeks away! All checks used to pay for tickets must be turned in by December 8 so they clear prior to the raffle drawing. Sold and unsold tickets and cash from sold tickets need to be turned in to Katie Klopfenstein by Sunday, December 14. If you have tickets to turn in or need more tickets to sell, contact Katie at raffle@lakotawestbands.org or Leslie at secretary@lakotawestbands.org. Thank you all who have been selling tickets.
