03/18/15 Upbeat Updates (For the Calendar, Jazz ‘n Cakes, Equipment Transportation and Woodworking Volunteers)

April 11th  – 8am-noon at LWHS Main St/Cafe – Jazz ‘N Cakes!

April 20th – Pre-State Clinic Performance

April 21st – April LW Upbeat Club meeting – includes officer elections for 15/16

 

Jazz N’ Cakes Pancake Breakfast is coming up fast – Saturday, April 11th is only a little more than 3 weeks away! 

  • Please CLICK HERE to sign up for one or more adult volunteer slots.  Almost 100 adult volunteer slots are available.
  • This is our 2nd biggest fundraiser – and with your help, we can raise even more money for our bands by adding “Drive a  Buick” to our pancake breakfast, basket raffle, and market street vendors.

  • Share the Jazz ‘n Cakes event and invite your Friends on Facebook.  CLICK HERE for Facebook event.
  • Student sign-ups will start the end of this week with paper sign-up at school.  Encourage your student to sign-up for a shift or two with their band friends.  Volunteer Service hours are available – just see the student volunteer coordinator the day of the event.
  • Upbeat Club Parent volunteers will be collecting Jazz N Cakes ticket money on Thursday, 3/19 and Friday, 3/20 at both the Freshman Campus (early in day) and Main Campus (end of school day) in the band rooms.

 

Equipment Transportation Volunteers needed:  Any volunteers interested in working on options/proposals to improve our equipment transportation situation in a small committee, please contact John Trygier at johntrygier@cinci.rr.com.   One of the band trucks likely requires some very serious work – which is causing us to evaluate what we need to do to make sure we have the necessary marching band transportation for the fall.   We will be seeking and evaluating trailer and/or tractor donation possibilities.

 

Like woodworking?  We have a great problem – too many awards for our display rails in the music hallway!  Volunteer is needed to make and install additional display rails for award plaques.   Please contact Jill Trygier @ president@lakotawestbands.org if you’re interested in this project.
