OMEA Honor Band Tryouts are Saturday, December 3rd at Fairfield Middle School, 1111 Nilles Rd, Fairfield. The 9-12 audition schedule was sent out by Mr. Carr through Charms. Over 170 high school students are auditioning, plus more from Ridge and Plains! Good luck to all!

The Lakota West Swing Dance is just 2 weeks away – Friday December 9th from 7:30- 10PM. To make this a special night we need volunteers. Jazz parents are kindly requested to take a shift. Set up/decorate, sell tickets, coat check, serve snacks, tear down/clean up. Most shifts are 1-2 hours so there is plenty of time to enjoy the entertainment before/after your shift. You will not miss your child playing. Whether your child is in jazz or not, please consider taking a shift at this fabulous event! Click here to sign up. The Holiday Concert is Monday, December 12th at Lakota West High School. All four high schools bands will perform starting at 7pm: Freshman, Red, White and Symphonic Winds. Order to be announced.
The next Parent Information meeting, and Upbeat Club meeting is Thursday January 19th at Lakota West High School starting at 6:30pm.
Try Band! is back and will be Saturday morning January 28th at Lakota West Freshman School from 9:30am – 12pm.
We are having an open house for 5th and 6th grade students to come and Try Band! High School students will be on hand to demonstrate and allow kids to explore all the different instruments they could play in 7th grade band. They’ll even get to try the instruments! A concert by Symphonic Winds will finish out the morning. Tell your neighbors, call your friends about this once a year event they won’t want their kids to miss!
