Jazz ‘n Cakes – April 22

Thanks to generous donations from dozens of community businesses & supporters, more than 50 baskets will be raffled. Raffle tickets will be sold at the door for $1 per ticket. To purchase raffle tickets in advance at the great rate of $20 for 40 tickets, $30 for 70 tickets and $50 for 120 tickets, contact Kevin at vp@lakotawestbands.org or text 604-2997.

Signup for Volunteers Please consider donating some time to this half day event on Saturday. It seems we’ve barely made a dent in the number of volunteer spots filled. We need many more hands to make this event a success both for the community as well as the students. Thank you for your time.

Upbeat Club Meeting and Elections

April Upbeat Club meeting is Thursday 4/20 at Lakota West High School starting at 6:30pm with the Directors’ update, and 7pm for the Upbeat Club regular meeting. All parents with band students in grades 7-12 are welcome and encouraged to join. Officer elections for 2017-18 will take place, and we encourage as many parents as possible to be present in order to participate.

Marching Band Rookie Tryouts

Tuesday April 25 at 6:30pm

Any new student (incoming 9th to 12th graders for 2017-18) wishing to join the 2017-18 Marching Firebirds, should plan to attend the rookie auditions on April 25 at 6:30pm. A meeting will follow for all new Marching Band parents. It takes place in the West High School Band Room. If you have questions, contact the director at your school: Ridge, Plains, Freshman or High School. Fall Color Guard Auditions

Tuesday May 2 from 6pm – 9pm at West Freshman Gym
AND
Thursday May 4 from 6pm – 9pm at West Freshman Gym

Open to incoming 9th to 12th graders for 2017-18, and all interested students must attend both sessions. The first day the students will learn technique and audition material. The second day will be a review of the material and auditions. Any questions, please contact Shelby Klamert or Tim Coady.
