Honors/Awards

Congratulations to Isaac Yoby and Evy Best who are travelling to Orlando this week (11/7-10) after being selected for the National Association for Music Educations (NAFME) National Honor Ensembles for 2019! An unprecedented honor for Lakota West who has had four students in fours years be selected to participate!

Congratulations on our Grand Champions from Saturday’s Mid-States Band Association West Clermont Band Invitational Competition! 1st in Open Class, Best Music, Visual and General Effect, 2nd in Guard, 4th in Percussion, and best of all – Fan Favorite!

Upbeat Club

Meeting – Next meeting is Thursday 11/21 at WEST MAIN CAMPUS band room. We are at West Main for remainder of the year. All parents and guardians of band students grades 7-12 are welcome to attend! Meeting will start at 6:30pm and run appx one hour.  The Upbeat executive board will be on hand at 6pm for any questions. Dan Kenworthy Scholarship – The Dan Kenworthy Scholarship is a $500 scholarship awarded to the outstanding marching band senior who best displays the following qualities both on and off the field: Dedication, Hardworking, Helpful, Supportive, Giving, Charitable, Kind, Friendly, Loving, Outgoing, Cheerful, Vivacious, Humor, and Family Oriented.
