The 2012 Lakota Summer Band Clinic

At the Lakota Summer Band Clinic your child will enjoy a summer band experience with students from other schools in Northern Cincinnati. It’s an opportunity to meet other kids who are the same age, may play the same instrument and may be as excited about their instrument as your child. At the Lakota Summer Band Clinic, we cater to those students (7th – 9th grade) who need that little something extra to spark some greater musical insight, or to provide an added incentive. In addition to professional instruction, your child can talk to Lakota High School band students, who will relate just what your child is in store for in just a few more years. You can give your child more than a musical instrument. You can give them an extra opportunity to feel encouraged and confident in their musical ability – to realize they are a musician!

Freshmen, welcome to the Lakota West Bands! There are four important steps to complete on our Freshman Band Registration page as you start the new school year:

1. Order and pay for your band t-shirt to be worn at Tag Day on September 10 and at the Freshman Night game on September 23. The cost is $6.25 and should be paid online by credit card or PayPal account. Shirts will be delivered at school.
2. Subscribe to our latest band announcements by Email, Twitter, or RSS feed.
3. Complete the online Lakota West Bands registration form so that your Charms account can be activated. Charms is our band management system where students and parents can access payment information, student fundraising account balances, and band music uploads. If you already have a Charms account (because you’re a Color Guard member or because an older sibling transferred an account balance to you), please skip to the next step.
4. Access your Charms account and make sure all of your student and parent contact information is correct. Note: allow 7 days for your account to be activated after completing the registration form.

Freshman Bands Earn Superior Ratings!

Congrats to all for a Superior District Adjudicated Event at Fairfield on March 11 and 12, 2011. Winds in Class AA, Red and White in Class A, and Concert Band, 6th Period Freshman and 7th Period Freshman in Class C all received Superior ratings. 6 Bands and 6 superior ratings. We are the only High School program in the State to take 6 bands and on top of that receive Superior ratings with every ensemble. No other school in Ohio can boast of this amazing accomplishment!! Quite proud of all the performances and the improvement our students continue to make!!!
