  1. Terrific Tag Day, thanks to all!!! Highest one day total ever, more to follow with envelopes!!!
  2. Chair auditions conclude this week in the concert bands. Fall Concert is just 5 weeks away.
  3. We are fitting Uniforms for Red, White, and Winds men this week, Wednesday-Friday. Students will be issued jacket and pants (marchers wear their marching pants for Red and White). They will need to purchase a bow tie ($4) and cummerbund ($10). Red items are for White Band and black for Red or Winds. We will trade used items with returning students who need a different color than they purchased last year. All three groups need to have pleat front tuxedo shirts. We have these for sale too for $10. Students provide their own closed toed black only shoes and plain black socks tall enough to cover their ankles when seated. You can pay online at https://lakotawestbands.org/finances/fees-and-uniform-items/ and bring in the receipt OR bring in a check made out to “LAKOTA WEST UPBEAT” OR bring cash. For new members that want the ‘package’ that would be $24.

  5. Marching Band News:
    1. Grand Champs at Troy and State Bound!! Best Color Guard, Best Drumline, Best Music, 1st place in Class AA all on the first performance of the year!
    2. Freshman Week, regular rehearsals.
    3. All students must have their individual pictures taken either Thursday or Friday, sign-up for times on band room bulletin board.
    4. Arrival time is 5:00 on Friday for Free Pizza party then in Auditorium at 6:15. Cookies from Trumpets and Trombones this week.
    5. Looking ahead:
      1. 9:00 performance time at Hamilton on Sept. 22 with 6 Class AA Bands.
      2. Homecoming Game on Sept. 28.
      3. Depart at 6:30 on Oct. 5 for Sandusky, make sure payment is in asap!!!!
