09/30/15 – Letter from the Uniform Committee

Parents:
We are requesting  your help initiating clean uniform maintenance and proper grooming for our musicians.
A lot of time can be saved by Keri Rampton and myself if the saxaphone neck straps are cleaned before each weekend’s event(s).  Excessively dirty neck straps require cleaning following games and competitions which includes allocating time during our busy week.  We literally make a special trip to school and hand scrub the black dirt off of the uniform neck and chest area.  If your saxophone players could wash their straps on Thursday evenings following the Silvers Under the Lights rehearsals, allowing them to air dry over night, we can save highly valued time and appreciate the effort of maintaining a clean appearance.  Therfore, beginning NOW excessively dirty uniform necks will be considered “uniform infractions”  and will go against your musician’s section when determining who receives candy and recognition for proper uniform hanging.
Also, we have noticed several gentlemen at each event not clean shaven upon entering school for a game or competition.  Beginning NOW, unshaven faces will also be considered a “uniform infraction” and will be used against your son’s section when we determine who gets the coveted candy and recognition for proper uniform hanging.
Thank you for sharing this with your young adult and promoting the proper respect due to our band, it’s volunteers, and our beautiful still quite new uniforms!
Looking forward to seeing all of you soon!
Best regards,
Andrea Scherer
