Band Camp Schedule

Thanks to our students, leaders, volunteers and parents, marching band season is off to a great start. We give special thanks to the many volunteers who helped with uniform fitting and Band Pre-Camp.

Last week the Marching Firebirds learned or reviewed the basics of marching as well as the traditional pre-game show. The week ahead is immersive as they begin to learn the show they’ll perform at halftimes and competitions. All the tips from last week — nutritious breakfasts, water jugs, sunscreen, sturdy shoes, hats, sunglasses and punctuality — matter even more this week. Volunteer Requests

Our band is powered by scores of band dads and moms who loan their time and talents to help our students succeed on and off the performance field. Please consider helping with one or more of these volunteer needs:

  • Sign up to help with Band Camp and/or the Lock-In.
  • Sign up to become part of our pool of bus chaperones for marching band competitions and special events.
  • Tag Day — our biggest fundraiser of the year — is Saturday morning, September 10. It’s an all-hands-on-deck effort! We need two volunteers willing to shadow the Tag Day ’16 Co-Chairs to see how it’s done and commit to Co-Chairing Tag. Please e-mail president@lakotawestbands.org if you’d like to learn more about this important role. A sign-up link for volunteers to drive students and serve a variety of other duties will be distributed soon.

Thirtyone Fundraiser

A local Thirtyone representative will donate her commission to the Lakota West Upbeat Club, which means it’s a great time for you to take of back-to-school and gift needs through this fundraiser. Click here to learn more.
