If you are a band parent who is unsure of what or how to help with The Marching Firebirds this season, then joining our ‘Pit Crew’ may be just what you are looking for! It takes the efforts of many to move our marching band to and from the Lakota sidelines as well as our competition venues and that’s where the Pit Crew’s responsibility comes into the picture. An informal, introductory Pit Crew meeting will be held on Sunday, August 26 from 6:00 – 7:30 pm at Andy Stewart’s house at 6934 Whistlestop Ct. (in West Chester Station subdivision off Dimmick Rd). This is definitely the best dressed and best FED organization in the marching band! Just some of the many perks.
This ‘meet and greet’ will begin with our customary food beginnings (light sandwiches and drinks will provided – you are asked to bring a salad/snack/dessert/etc) and end with an overview of this year, a review of responsibilities, ordering Pit Crew apparel (shirts and/or jackets), and answering any questions/concerns you may have. We need you as we will be pressed into action Friday, September 7 (Friday night football game) and then again on Saturday, September 8th (1st band competition @ Troy). Please mark your calendars, and we hope to see you there! You can just attend the meeting if you are interested. For more information please contact Andy Stewart at pitcrew@lakotawestbands.org
