Quarterly Assessments are this week on Tuesday and Wednesday. Students will play the circle of 4ths from G concert to Db concert. We have played/practiced these scales every day in band for about 7 weeks and have known about this since the second day of school. Students should be well prepared for this test.
Band aids will be needed on Thursday night at 8:00 pm. At the present time, it is scheduled for the main football stadium, however, we could be displaced by athletic events. Mr. Chumley will announce where the rehearsal will occur as soon as a definitive decision is made.
The East/West game is Friday night at Lakota West. Report time is 6:00 pm. Please do not be late as parking will be crazy for this game. If Lakota West wins, we are in the playoffs. If we lose, we are out. It will be a very exciting evening, not to mention that we will get to see the Lakota East marching band. Both bands will perform their competition shows at halftime.
OMEA State Marching Band Finals are on Sunday, Oct. 28 at Welcome Stadium in Dayton, OH (this is the football stadium that you can see from I-75 north. The Lakota West Marching Firebirds perform at 4:00 pm. Report time will be around 1:00 pm. We will leave for Dayton around 1:45-2:00, arriving in Dayton around 2:15-2:30. We should be back at Lakota West by 5:30-6:00 pm.
The last event for the Marching Firebirds will be the Marching Band concert on Thursday, Nov 1. Band aids are encouraged to attend this final performance of the 2012-13 marching season.
