High School & Freshman Band Announcements – Nov. 19-25

Lakota West Bands
  1. Lakota West and West Freshman Schools have 224 students auditioning for the District 13 Honor Concert and Jazz Bands. This is tremendous. We expect audition times to be available on Monday, Nov 26. If they come out sooner, we will get that information out as fast as we can. Remember, all auditions (concert and jazz) are at Fairfield Middle School, located at 1111 Nilles Road, Fairfield, OH 45014 and will occur on Saturday, Dec 1, 2012. If you have signed up for an audition and for some reason cannot make the audition, please let either Mr. Chumley or Snyder know as soon as possible.
  2. All band students are reminded of their “homework” assignment for Thanksgiving Day. Watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. You should watch the broadcast on Channel 5, WLWT (our local NBC affiliate). The parade will be on from 9:00 am until noon. Students need to write a list of the bands that perform, a very brief paragraph about each band including their name, what music they played, and any other information they wish to share. Lastly, the students need to rank the bands in the order which they liked best to least.
  3. The Holiday Band Concerts are coming up soon. The HS Concerts will occur on Monday, Dec. 17 in the Main Campus Auditorium, and the Freshman Concerts will be on Tuesday, Dec. 18 in the Freshman Campus Auditorium.
  4. Finally, we have had a fantastic year with our bands so far with many more great things to come. We are very thankful for all the efforts and support of the students and parents in our program. For all those traveling over the Thanksgiving holiday, safe travels. To all, have a wonderful and safe holiday. We’ll see everyone back on Monday, Nov 26!
