- Holiday Concert this week:
High School Main Campus-Red and White Symphonic Bands and Symphonic Winds, Monday, Dec 17, 2012, 7:00 pm. Guest soloist with Symphonic Winds-Genevieve Bielieu, Bassoon, DMA Candidate, Michigan State University, Lakota West Alumnus;
Freshman Campus-Freshman Bands, Tuesday, Dec 18, 2012, report time is 6:20 pm. 2nd Period Band will perform first and will warm-up with Mr. Chumley in the band room. 1st Period Band will perform second and warm-up with Mr. Snyder in the Cafeteria.
- Solo & Ensemble registration forms are due on Wednesday, Dec 19, 2012. Cost for a Solo is $16, cost for an ensemble is $21 (divided by the number of members in the ensemble). Fees may be combined, checks should be made payable to: Lakota West Upbeat Club.
- The Solo & Ensemble Recital will be held on Monday, January 28, 2013 at Lakota West High School beginning at 6:30 pm. ALL ensembles, Freshman and High School (including woodwind and brass choirs) will perform. This is warm-up for the adjudicated performance. There will be an evaluator listening to each ensemble and will make comments and work briefly with each group. There is no cost for this event.
- Solo & Ensemble Festival will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Lakota West High School. Each individual and ensemble will have their own scheduled time sometime between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. This event takes a lot of volunteers and we would love to have you help us. Please visit the band website, www.lakotawestbands.org to sign-up to volunteer for this event.
