Upbeat Updates 3/20 – (Jazz ‘n Cakes – Market Street, Winterguard)

Jazz ‘N Cakes – is 2 DAYS AWAY on Saturday morning 3/22 from 8am – noon.  We still have a few volunteer slots open.  In addition to the pancake breakfast and jazz music, the Jazz ‘n Cakes Main Street Market will host local vendors, merchants and crafters, as well as, a variety of gift certificates and merchandise for the 65 basket raffles and 25 silent auctions. Basket items include tickets to the Cincinnati Reds, Kings Island, Coney Island, Walt Disney World, Beach Waterpark, Newport Aquarium, Cincinnati Zoo, Cincinnati Symphony, Museum Center and gift cards, certificates and product donations from many other local attractions, retailers and restaurants and also several autographed photos and sports related items.  So be sure to bring extra cash!  This is our 2nd biggest fundraiser of the year and a lot of fun.   Adults, sign-up for your spot now by CLICKING HERE.  Student alumni in the area or on spring break are welcome to volunteer through the adult sign-up, as are their parents.  Students are strongly encouraged to work a shift and can earn service hours for doing so.  JAZZ STUDENTS performing do NOT need a ticket to eat breakfast, all others do, including volunteers.  The following is the schedule of the bands to plan your shift(s):

8:00am – West Freshman

8:40 – Ridge Jr. School 7th grade Jazz Band

9:10 –  West Jazz Combo             

10:00 – Plains Jr. School 7th Grade Jazz Band

10:30 –  West Jazz Ensemble

 11:15 – West Jazz Combo

Students (grades 9-12) will be given 5 tickets to sell.  Tickets will be $6 each this year and also available at the door the day of the event.  Ticket money or any unsold tickets can  be put in an envelope and mailed back to:   Lakota West Upbeat Club, P.O. Box 1637, West Chester, OH 45071-1637 , returned to school and given to the Upbeat volunteer during band class the week of 3/17, or given to the Jazz ‘N Cakes ticket sellers the day of the event.  Ticket instructions and information about the event will be with the tickets given to the students.
