1. Tonight is the Rose Concert. You don’t want to miss this. The combined Freshman Bands (120 strong) will be performing at 7:00 pm followed by Red and White Symphonic Bands. Following the Red and White bands, Tournament of Roses President Richard Chenin will make a presentation to the Lakota West Bands acknowledging our invitation to the 126thTournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, CA. Following the presentation, Symphonic Winds will perform.
2. In addition to the celebrating our invitation to the Tournament of Roses Parade, tonight’s performance is the final preparation for the OMEA State Large Group Adjudicated Event, which will be held on Friday evening, May 2 at the Lakota EAST Freshman School. Red Symphonic Band plays at 6:00 pm, White Symphonic Band plays at 8:20 pm and Symphonic Winds plays at 10:30 pm. Each bands report time to the EAST Freshman School is one (1) hour before their scheduled performance time.
3. Senior pictures are due and need to be turned in right away. Remember, we need a baby picture and either one of your senior or a current picture. Pictures can be brought to school and placed in the large manila envelope hanging on the bulletin board between Mr. Snyder’s and Mr. Chumley’s offices, or, they can be scanned and emailed to Mrs. Frederick, one of our senior parents who has graciously agreed to coordinate the creation of the annual slide show for Band Awards Night. You can email the pictures to her directly at yfrederick@cinci.rr.com. All pictures that are brought in will be returned to you.
4. Last and certainly not least, marching band deposits and commitments forms are due on Thursday, May 1, 2014. The forms are available on the main page of the band website, or, you can pick up the packet of information from Mr. Snyder or Mr. Chumley in the band room at either the Freshman or Main Campuses. PLEASE NOTE: YOU CANNOT PAY THE DEPOSIT ON LINE ANYWHERE. PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO PAY YOUR DEPOSIT ON LINE. We have heard several people talking about paying via PayPal, Charms, or EZPay. YOU CANNOT PAY VIA ANY OF THESE METHODS-THEYARE NOT SET UP AND WILL NOT BE SET UP TO HANDLE MARCHING BAND DEPOSITS Payments must be made by check or cash. Checks should be made payable to LAKOTA WEST HIGH SCHOOL, (not the Upbeat Club) and include your child’s student ID number. The District is handling all charge and payments for marching band this year.
