Great work to all 5 concert bands on superb performances at district contest this weekend.
Congrats to Red, White and Winds who all qualified for state contest! We will be working hard to get the bands ready for another awesome performance at state contest.
Auditions for next years concert bands begin Monday. All auditions are in the main campus band room starting @ approximately 3:00. Each student will play 20 to 30 seconds of a selection they have prepared and scales. Students can stay for the entire duration but they are not required to. All auditions should be done each day before 5. Below is the schedule of auditions for the next week.
Monday 9- Clarinet
Tuesday 10- Saxophone
Wednesday 11- Flute
The musical Guys and Dolls opens Friday night. 21 Lakota West Band students play in the pit, and a few are even acting in the production. Get tickets from http://www.lakotawesttheatre.
Marching band schedule for next season: Though more details will be coming closer to the actual dates about uniform fittings, specific meeting times and other details this schedule should be enough for families to plan a vacations and set a family calendar.
I’m particularly excited about the 4 day weekend completely free of all band activities that should be a great opportunity for family time in the middle of the marching season.

July 20-24 Pre-Band Camp M/F- 7am-12pm, T-R 7am-4pm
July 26– Bowling Night 7-9pm
July 27-31– Band Camp 7am- 9pm F- Band Camp Performance 7pm

Aug 3-7– Post Camp M/F- 7am-12pm, T-R 7am-4pm
Aug 11-12 Practice 1-5pm (Aug 12– Picture at 10am)
Aug 13– First Day of School (Marching Band- 7pm)
Aug 14– Practice 3-5:30pm
Regular weekly practice is M- 7-9 T- 3-4 W- 3-5:30 R- 7-9

Sept 12– Tag Day
Sept 18– Home Football vs. Princeton
Sept 19– Tipp City Competition
