Split the Pot Volunteers are very much needed for all home football games! Split the Pot helps raise money to support all our band programs. Sign up for one football game, or sign up for them all! Where else can you wear a funny hat, a cute apron and talk to your friends and neighbors while you sell tickets individually or by the arms length! CLICK HERE to sign-up via Sign-Up Genius.
Mark your calendars for Tag Day! Tag Day is September 12, 2015 this year from ~8:30 until 1pm. Tag Day is the band’s biggest fundraiser; proceeds go primarily to our uniform fund. This allows us to replace the marching band and concert band uniforms as needed. Please:
1) Mark your calendar and make sure your student attends Tag Day.
2) Volunteer to drive for Tag Day! If you drive, your student and at least one friend will ride with you on your route (unless they choose not to). We try to keep you as close as possible to your home neighborhood, and you learn lots of interesting things…..Your role is to transport the students to the designated route, keep an eye on the students working your route – they will be in pairs – and transport them safely back to Lakota West. CLICK HERE to sign-up to drive for Tag Day on Sign-up Genius. First drivers to sign up will be given preference for their home route.
What is Silvers? For all new marching band parents, the Thursday night rehearsal is known as “Silvers under the lights” because historically this is when all marching brass practice with the silver instruments we use in performance. Now we practice with them all the time – and Thursday evening rehearsals are still special. Parents are welcome to attend as much of the rehearsal as they would like – and at the end of rehearsal, the directors always run the full competition show from start to finish for parents to watch! Come and watch, meet other band parents, pick up Spirit Wear you have ordered, and conduct other band business!
