Freshman Night Practices and Logistics: Your freshman student knows…..but have they told you? Here’s is schedule for Freshman Night practices and performance this week. These are times when the freshman who are not regularly performing with the Marching Firebirds will join them. No changes to regular Marching Firebird schedule.
Wednesday, 9/2: Freshman practice with band 3-4pm at Main Campus Parking Lot by band room 3-4pm. Ride the activity bus from Freshman Campus after school.
Thursday, 9/3: Practice 7-8pm at Freshman Campus Stadium. Stay to watch the rest of “Silvers under the Lights” with the Marching Firebirds if you’d like!
Friday, 9/4: Meet at 4:30pm at Lakota West Main Campus Band room; Pizza for Freshman + Marching Firebirds at 5pm; Warm-up at 5:30pm. Pregame starts at 6:45pm. Freshman students will sit with the band in the end zone and perform at half-time. Dismissal is from band room (not stadium) after game, estimated 9:45pm.
Only 12 days until Tag Day on September 12: 31 Drivers needed! Haven’t signed up to drive for Tag Day yet? Please don’t forget. CLICK HERE to sign up to drive. Our ability to raise funds on Tag Day is directly linked to how many doors we knock on – which requires drivers AND students! We will post the section combinations for the Tag Day Section Participation Recognition this week in the band rooms at both campuses. The section combination with the highest participation rate will have a free Pizza dinner prior to the September 18 Football Game vs. Princeton.
Mark your calendars for Senior Night on October 2nd! Senior parents, you are invited to come to the Auditorium before the game, pin your son or daughter’s flower on, and get your picture taken together!
Thanks to all the volunteers at Friday night’s football game! Great performance by the band, excellent first night out for uniforms, pit crew, 3rd quarter refreshments AND excellent first night of split the pot – thanks to everyone who sold tickets and helped the band in any capacity!
