Macy’s Trip  —  Thank you to everyone, all the parents, chaperones, and students for making this trip smooth and successful. The students represented themselves, their school, and their community extremely well everywhere they went. It was great to see everyone in NY. The pictures are starting to be uploaded to the website and will continue for the next week or two.  If you were in NYC and have photos of the parade you would like to share for the website (and season DVD), the best/easiest way is to put them on a zip drive that can be exchanged for upload to Flickr and returned to you.  If you would like to do this please contact Sue Tanner at president@lakotawestbands.org

Marching Firebird DVDs — Now that the season is over, don’t forget to order your season DVD of “West Side Story” including the Macy’s trip.  Each DVD is $35 and is delivered to the address noted on the order.  We will take orders through May 1, 2014.  The DVD will then ship after October 1, 2014.

Swing Dance Friday December 13th 7:30-10pm volunteers needed –

Lakota West Swing Dance

Tickets $10 – sold in advance & at the Door

Children under 3 free, 3-10 yrs old $5/ticket

Bring your friends and spend the evening enjoying a variety of selections from our outstanding jazz musicians from the freshman and high schools. You’ll hear some old favorites and holiday classics. You won’t want to miss any of the toe tappin’ tunes so here is when your favorite groups are scheduled to take the bandstand:   (times are approximate)

In between these great groups, you’ll want to be on the dance floor learning some new steps from the guest dance instructors. You’ll have the chance to show off your new moves during the Dance off!  A great night of music, dancing, food, and friends!  Fun for all ages! Raffle and door prizes! Earn an extra raffle ticket for every 2 nonperishable items donated to Reach Out Lakota. Buy extra tickets to increase your odds of winning a prize.

Parents:  This is a wonderful event to showcase the jazz program. We need your help to make it a success. There are volunteer needs for ticket sales, refreshment table, coat check, setup and tear down.  Jazz parents are expected to volunteer for a shift, all parents are welcome.  PLEASE consider helping us out on the 13^th.  Sign up to volunteer for this fun event through SIGNUP GENIUS HERE.
