Rose Parade Medication and Forms Turn in: Student medications, parent authorization for administration, and medication forms for use during Rose Parade trip should be turned into Robin Robinson, school nurse, at end of Marching Band practice either Wednesday, November 19 or Monday, November 24. These are the correct dates – as there has been some confusion. The meds and forms MUST be turned into Robin Robinson, not directors or anyone else. Your student’s chaperone will need to carry all the medications for all of the students in their group in their original containers – so please consider sending travel size bottles for OTC meds, etc. as appropriate.
In addition to the medication forms everyone needs to fill out a Parent/Guardian Consent For Medication Administration For Overnight School Trips form. EVERYONE! One per child (not per medication). Please CLICK HERE to access the consent form on Lakota Online. Also, if the chaperone has their child in their group, the chaperone (aka-the parent) can give the kids their meds and NOT go thru all the paperwork, AND the parent (aka chaperone) can carry their childs meds.
Trivia Night on November 15 has been cancelled due to insufficient sign-ups!
Keep selling those 50-50 Raffle Tickets! We have 1598 tickets sold, 1152 out in the hands of parents being sold, and another 2250 to sell if we want to maximize how much money we make. Contact Katie Klopfenstein at raffle@lakotawestbands.org or Leslie Twardowski at secretary@lakotawestbands.org to get tickets to sell.
The second early bird winner of $250 was drawn at the marching band concert and awards. Congratulations to Trudy Klemas, with ticket sold by Mary Cullum.
Parkas Needed Back by Wednesday! Due to the football team’s exciting win on Saturday, the band will be performing at the next playoff game this coming Saturday night! Since the game will be against East, we will need to be in full uniform. I am sorry to say that we will be needing the parkas back by Wednesday – clean or still dirty. If you could mark the bags either clean or dirty and leave them in the sousa classroom, we would greatly appreciate it. I don’t think that the clean parkas will have to be re-cleaned as there probably won’t be any sweating going on Saturday night. If you didn’t get your parkas all cleaned and would be willing to take them back when we are done, please let us know! If you have questions or need to make arrangements for returning the parkas, please contact uniforms@lakotawestbands.org.
Playoffs: Great Pep band turnout for Saturday’s Playoff game. Congrats to the Lakota West Firebirds for their win against Centerville in the first round of playoffs. Next game against Lakota East is at Mason High School at 7:00 on November 15. We will meet in the Mason High School parking lot at 6:00 in full uniform. We will load trucks after school on Friday, and everyone should pick up their uniform at that time. We will perform pre-game and the competition show at half time without the Ballad.(middle section!)
