SPECIAL LAKOTA WEST UPBEAT CLUB MEETING: The Lakota West Upbeat Club will have a brief special meeting on Monday, July 20, 2015 at 8pm in the Lakota West Band Room, immediately following set-up for uniform fittings. Primary purpose is to vote on and approve an amendment to our Articles of Incorporation. For background, the Lakota Upbeat Club Inc. is the parent corporation for both the Lakota West and Lakota East Upbeat clubs. Over the last year, both executive boards have been working to incorporate and establish non-profit status as two separate organizations. This amendment is primarily a wording change requested by the IRS as part of our non-profit approval process.
MARCHING BAND SCHOLARSHIPS: All Marching Band Scholarship applications should be submitted by Friday, July 24. CLICK HERE for scholarship application information. These are scholarships for ½ the marching band fee based on financial need. If you are applying for a scholarship, you should still pay the first $200 of the fee ($50 deposit + another $150) by the 15th.
UNIFORM VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: The Uniform Committee is looking for volunteers to help with uniform fittings the week of pre-band camp, July 20 – 24, 2015. Fittings will take place in the Band Room at Lakota West High School. It takes a lot of volunteers to get the entire Marching Band fitted into uniforms for the upcoming season with summer uniforms, red bags, jackets, pants, shakos, gloves, etc. Please click HERE if you can help during the evening hours one day (or more) during pre-band camp to help get students fitted for the upcoming season.
