Jazz N Cakes is coming up THIS SATURDAY, April 30 from 8am until noon. We need your help for our last fundraiser of the year! Our fundraising allows us to do things like bring Sam Hazo in to work with our students and purchase a tractor/trailer for the band program. Please help us help your students:
- Sign-up to volunteer on the adult volunteer sign-up by CLICKING HERE! Whether you like to flip pancakes, plate pancakes or fill coffee carafes for students to serve, sell tickets, watch baskets, or sell raffle tickets, we have a job for you! We still have 63 adult volunteer slots open. Training provided for all volunteer slots.
- Have your students turn in the proceeds from sold tickets and any unsold tickets from the 5 tickets they were asked to sell to one of the band parents at school on Monday, 4/25 or Tuesday, 4/16 this week. Extra tickets are available by contacting president@lakotawestbands.org.
- Invite your family and friends. Whether you’d like a quick breakfast you didn’t have to make or a leisurely morning of music, we have it for you! In addition to jazz and pancakes, we have over 15 market street vendors and 75 exciting baskets. Jazz performance schedule is:

Get ready for an exciting last week of band performances the week of May 9. Join the Lakota West Bands for final spring concerts, including Senior Concertos, and Band Awards Night.
Students will turn in their school-owned concert band uniforms immediately after the Monday, May 9, concert. Please make sure they bring clothes to wear home from the concert!
Band Awards Night on Thursday, May 12, is open to all, and features our seniors and their future plans. Band letters for juniors will be available at the conclusion of the program.
Audition recordings for 2017 OMEA All-State Band, Orchestra and Jazz Band must be submitted by May 31, 2016. See Mr. Carr’s band announcements on the website for more information.
Congratulations to all our students on their band placements for next year! Lists were posted Friday, April 22 at the end of the school day. A meeting for next year’s Symphonic Winds students will take place on Tuesday, May 3 from 3 to 4pm.
Congratulations to the recently elected ’16-’17 Lakota West Upbeat Club, Inc. Executive Board. Please welcome Dawn Dilorenzo, President; Kevin Moorman, Vice President; Allison Reder, Freshman Vice President; Jodie Barnes, Treasurer; and Leslie Twardowski, Secretary as your new officers. They will assume office effective June 1, 2016.
