Thank you, everyone, for supporting our 19th Annual Jazz ‘n Cakes fundraiser. It was a great success and a good time, and we’re especially grateful for the excellent jazz performances, the many volunteers and the businesses, organizations and individuals who contributed to our basket raffle and silent auction. Get ready for an exciting last week of band performances the week of May 9. Join the Lakota West Bands for final spring concerts, including senior concertos and Band Awards Night. Students will turn in their school-owned concert band uniforms immediately after the Monday, May 9, concert. Please make sure they bring clothes to wear home from the concert!
Quentin Craycraft was awarded the Gregory Snyder Coda Scholarship at Lakota West Senior Awards Night. The scholarship is funded through the West Chester Liberty Township Community Foundation and was presented by Chris Brandenburg, Lakota West Freshman and Assistant Director Emeritus. Band Awards Night on Thursday, May 12, is open to all, and features our seniors and their future plans. Band letters for juniors will be available at the conclusion of the program.
Audition recordings for 2017 OMEA All-State Band, Orchestra and Jazz Band must be submitted by May 31, 2016. See Mr. Carr’s band announcements on the website for more information.
Congratulations to all our students on their band placements for next year! Lists were posted Friday, April 22 at the end of the school day. A meeting for next year’s Symphonic Winds students will take place on Tuesday, May 3 from 3 to 4pm.
