It’s almost the end of the ’15-’16 band season and we’re still having fun:
Graduation ceremonies are Thursday evening, May 19, at the Cintas Center on the campus of Xavier University. Members of the Pink Band (graduation band) should be at the Cintas Center by 4:45pm.
The final Taste of Music fundraiser for this school year is this Friday, May 20, from 4 to 8pm at the Union Centre Blvd. Chipotle. For the band to receive the fundraising benefit, tell the cashier you’re with Lakota West Bands, show the flyer from the back of the spring concert program, or show this email. Attending is a great way to celebrate the end of the school year and get fueled up for Rookie Marcher Day.
Rookie Marcher Day is this Friday, May 20, at the Lakota West High School Band Room. Rookie marchers should report at 6:30pm, and parents of rookie marchers at 7:30pm for a 30- to 60-minute parent meeting. This is the best way for rookie marchers and rookie marching band parents to get connected to the information needed for marching band season.
2015 marching band members will perform at the Main Event VIP grand opening this Sunday, May 22. Students should wear their summer uniforms, and arrive at Main Event (at the Streets of West Chester) by 2:15pm. Drums and sousas as will load from West at 2:30pm. At 2:45pm the band will perform Shake It Off, Happy, Tribute to Troy, and West’s fight song. From 3 to 6pm, those who performed with the band will enjoy free access to Main Event games.
2015 marching band members should report to the old Union School on Cincinnati-Dayton Road at 9am, Monday, May 30, for the West Chester Memorial Day parade.
Thanks to all the parents who supported our band students through many band activities and fundraisers. It’s been a great year!
