Home Football Game vs. Colerain (Senior Night)
This Friday is our next-to-last home football game of the season, and it’s also Senior Night. Seniors and their parents should report to the Main Band Room between 4 and 5:30pm for photos and flower-pinning. Also, seniors’ parents should line in alphabetical order in the north end zone (band end zone) when there are five minutes remaining in the 2nd quarter. During halftime, seniors and their parents will be called onto the football field for recognition and photos.
Drum majors and percussion (drum line and front line), the third quarter happiness of the band rests on your shoulders this week. Please bring two two-liter bottles of clear soda or lemonade and two full-sized packages of cookies when you report to the Main Band Room this Friday afternoon.
Miamisburg Marching Band Invitational This Saturday
The Marching Firebirds competition performance in the Miamisburg Marching Band Invitational will be this Saturday evening at 8:45pm. Awards will be given at 9:25pm, and the band should be back at West’s Main Band Room by about 10:30pm.
We hope you can be in the stands at Holland Stadium to cheer for the Marching Firebirds. It’s only 30 minutes from West Chester! Tickets are $8/adults and $5/children ages 6-12, seniors and military. FOURTH ANNUAL UNO’S DOUGHRAISER IS SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 6
Our next fundraiser is the Uno’s Doughraiser on Sunday, November 6, at the West Chester Uno’s. The owners generously let us run their restaurant for a day and keep the profits. It’s an all-hands-on-deck effort of our parents and students, and the good news is that it’s fun. You can help now by:

- buying your tickets and encouraging your family, friends and neighbors to buy tickets online now.
Do You Own or Operate a Business?
We invite you to join the Lakota West Bands Business Boosters (LWBBB). The group meets at 8am the third Thursday of each month at the First Watch on Union Centre Blvd. RSVP to Kevin Moorman via text: 513-604-2997 to attend the October 20th meeting.
Monthly Parent Meeting This Thursday
We’re starting a new tradition — a monthly parent information meeting. The first one will be this Thursday, October 20, in the Freshman School band room from 6:30 to 7pm. We hope you’ll come to this informal meeting to hear what’s going on from our directors and volunteer leaders.
Upbeat Club Meeting This Thursday
The Upbeat Club monthly business meeting will take place from 7 to about 7:30pm in the Freshman School band room. Coming to the meetings is a great way to learn about the behind-the-scenes efforts to power our bands to success.
Spiritwear
Our final ordering deadline of the year will be around November 6 — this to get items here before the holidays. If you already placed an order, it will be available at Silvers (Thursday evening rehearsals) as soon as it is delivered to our Spiritwear coordinator. If you’re able to come to Silvers, your teen can check immediately after Silvers practice; alternatively, you can email Rachel Butler to see if your order is in. If you have not placed an order, please do as soon as possible to be included in our next bulk order with our supplier. Questions? See our spirit wear shop or email spirit@lakotawestbands.org.

- Friday, October 21: LWHS: Home football game vs. Colerain (Senior Night) at 7pm: Seniors and their parents report to the Main Band Room for photos and flower-pinning between 4 and 5pm, and all marching members report to theater in full uniform for warmup at 5:30pm
- Saturday, October 22: LWHS: Marching Band rehearsal from 2:30 to 5pm, followed by dinner provided for the students by Lakota West Bands, and departure for the Miamisburg Marching Band Invitational around 6:15pm
- Saturday, October 22: Holland Field (1860 Belvo Road, Miamisburg, OH): The Marching Firebirds perform at 8:45pm in the Miamisburg Marching Band Invitational
