- Auditions for next year’s bands start this week.
Here is the schedule for this week:Tuesday-Clarinets
Wednesday-Trombones
Thursday-Baritones/Euphoniums/Tubas - Students should sign up to ride the activity bus to Main Campus on the day of their audition. Auditions start at 3:00 (or earlier if everyone is ready). Students will play a couple of scales and a short (16-30 measures, about 30 seconds) prepared piece for Mr. Snyder and Mr. Chumley. Rides should be scheduled to pick up students at 4:00 on all days.
- The purpose of these auditions is to determine which band students will be in next year, either Red or White Symphonic Bands or, Symphonic Winds. Chair placement for those bands will occur next fall.
- We will be in sectionals on Tuesday and Wednesday this week, there will be a playing test on Wednesday. The test will be on Columbian March or Spirit of the Winds (1st period) or, Peacemaker March or Pathways (2nd period).
- Our next performance is the Pre-Large Group Winter Concert on Monday, March 5, 2013, followed by our most important performance of the year, Large Group Adjudicated Event, on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Fairfield High School. This is our evaluation, similar to the OAA or OGT.
