Centerville Invitational Results

Lakota West placed 2nd in Open Class at Centerville Invitational on Saturday! Great to see the benefits of hours of practice and dedication show in their performance. Outstanding! We placed second in music and GE to Mason, second in percussion to Sycamore, second in auxilary to Miamisburg. The most well-rounded show on the field! A lot to be proud of! Congratulations! Also, Mr. Carr sent out an email to all very late Saturday night. If you did not get it, then there may be an issue with your email provider not working well with CHARMS. Please let us know at communications@lakotawestbands.org and we will forward the email to you.

Jag’s Lakota West Band Night 11/4

Jag’s Steak & Seafood/Piano Bar is celebrating their new menu and renovation by hosting ChariTABLE Reveal Days and have chosen four organizations to support, one of which is Lakota West Bands! Lakota West Band Night is 11/4  at Jag’s from 5pm – 10pm.   A portion of all food sales between 5-10 pm will be donated to our Upbeat Club to offset trip costs for Orlando.  See web page for details, or visit their Facebook page.  Reservations are recommended.

Mid-States Band Association Championships

Our performance time was moved to 7:45pm. As a result, the pre-rehearsal will NOT be at 9am, new time will be announced later this week.
The competition is at the Atrium Stadium at Mason Middle School. Please go to our calendar for more information.

OMEA State Marching Band Finals

Our performance time is 4:15pm at Dayton Welcome Stadium. There is no rehearsal prior to departure.

Bands of America Grand National Finals, Indianapolis Trip 11/10-12

Important Notes:

  • This is the first trip to Bands of America Grand Nationals for any Lakota Band!
  • All information is current and up to date on our Indy Trip Page here – Indy Trip Page.
  • Medication drop-off will be 11/2 from 6-7pm, Freshman School. Medication letter available on Indy web page.
  • Parent  meeting for trip is 11/2 at 7pm, Freshman School Theater. Travel Consultant will be attending. Students are welcome to attend.
  • If you have not yet signed up for the REMIND text group, there is still time. Text the message LWMARCHBND to 81010.

  • We will be doing a send-off at 8:30pm at the rehearsal at main campus on 11/8, to show our support and see the last run before Prelims on Friday in Indy! Please join us!!

Uno’s Dough Raiser is Sunday 11/19

Uno’s is one of our biggest fundraisers and is truly a lot of fun for those that get involved, and we need many hands to help. See sign-up opportunities here.

If you can help make tip jars (lots of them) for this event, please contact Dawn at president@lakotawestbands.org.

For those who didn’t pay for Uno’s tickets when they were distributed, money and any unused tickets are due Thursday, November 2nd.  Students can bring this to class, or a parent can bring it to the parent meeting for Indy Trip that evening. Families can purchase additional tickets; look for more information online soon. Parents, please consider attending Uno’s mid-day, as this is the best time to avoid lines.

Disney World Parade/Orlando Trip 12/28-1/2

  • Students will sign up for rooms prior to rehearsal on 10/30 in band room.
  • Parent meeting for trip is 12/18 at 6pm, location tbd. Travel Consultant will be attending. Students are welcome to attend.
  • Final payment due to MTC by 12/7.

    • Room sign-ups for Orlando will take place before rehearsal starting between 5-5:30pm in the band room
    • Rehearsal  6:30pm – 9pm at main campus stadium
    • Bandoween – costumes welcome at evening rehearsal (as long as they don’t interfere with marching). No contest during rehearsal

    • Rehearsal 3-5:30pm at main campus parking lot cancelled

    • No evening rehearsal  Rehearsal back on from 6:30pm – 9
    • Payment or return of Uno’s tickets distributed to each band student is due
