What a fantastic group and what a great time to be in the Lakota West Band program! It’s worth a moment to take measure of the last few weeks/months to reflect and say:
THANKS to all the families who have registered their Kroger cards and faithfully shop. In spite of the new rules, our first quarterly check exceeded 3 month totals from last year! This is one of the easiest fundraisers for the band. If you haven’t registered your card yet, please CLICK HERE for instructions; if you have, please keep shopping so that we can maintain these excellent results. The band is “competing” for a single pot of money now. THANKS to Suzanne Brungs for organizing this program for years!
THANKS to all the students and parents who participated and families that purchased in support of the Mattress Sale! Great team effort. The band just received the check from the sale, which exceeded last year’s total. THANKS to Suzie Bubash for organizing this event.
THANKS to the Lakota community, along with a small army of students and band parents, Tag Day was another record year! Saturday’s total (up ~10% vs. year ago) will increase with mail in and online donations. THANKS to Jeff Horner and Jill Trygier for leading this major effort again.
THANKS to the fabulous crew of parents that worked yesterday to install new music cabinets, purchased by the school, for the band and choir. This saved thousands of dollars on cost. Mr. Chumley can now organize and file the music for the band for the next several years (instead of piling it on any available shelf)! THANKS to Andy Stewart and the Pit Crew for organizing this project.
THANKS to all the parents who have volunteered to be a committee chair, activity leader, or volunteer at any activity this season. You are the reason this program keeps going. If you haven’t put your toe in the water yet, we still have lots of opportunities of all sizes – which one has your name on it? Upbeat provides friendly on the job training (and sometimes food, entertainment, and other perks).
