Uniform Turn-in

Uniform Turn In will take place directly following the marching band concert on Tuesday, November 19 Monday 11/25.  All pieces and parts including uniforms, parkas, and shakos MUST be turned in at this time.  No exceptions.  If you will not be there for the concert, please make arrangements to bring these items in ahead of time or send them with a friend that evening.  All band members may take home their uniform show shirts (white uniform shirt with blue design on sleeves) following this performance.

Lots of volunteer opportunities to help make this process run smoothly!  Please consider helping with turn in following the concert, or taking home a bag of parkas for laundering! Links to sign up are below:

Lakota West Winter Guard Auditions 11/20, 6:30-9:30 at the Freshman Building

What is Winterguard? It is Colorguard without the band! And it is indoors! If you have not seen our Lakota West Winterguard perform, you are missing out. They had TWO teams last season- Varsity and Junior Varsity.  Auditions are  open to any current colorguard or marching band member, as well as eighth graders at Plains or Ridge. NO experience necessary, but dance is a plus. Please wear clothes that you can move and dance in.  Rehearsals start in November and competitions run February through end of March/early April. For questions, please contact Shelby Adkins at  Here is a link to learn more –

Lakota West Swing Dance 12/13

The Lakota West Swing Dance is just 4 weeks away – Friday December 13th from 7:30- 10PM. The event is open to our entire community! Bring your friends and family of all ages for an evening of live jazz performances from our outstanding musicians, delicious snacks and desserts, and dancing. There will be swing dance instruction and a Dance-Off. To make this a special night we also need volunteers. Both at the event and snacks provided at the event. We encourage all Jazz parents to take a shift to set up/decorate, sell tickets, run coat check, serve snacks, and/or tear down/clean up. Most shifts are 1-2 hours so there is plenty of time to enjoy the entertainment before or after your shift. You will not miss your child playing. Whether your child is in jazz or not, please consider taking a shift at this fabulous event! Signup will be posted to Volunteer page and sent out when available. If you are on Facebook – mark that you are interested and invite your friends and neighbors! Link to event here.
