Winter Guard Competition Committee Forming

Looking for a fun new volunteer opportunity this fall/winter? A planning team is now forming with anyone interested in helping to host a Winter Guard competition for Tristate Marching Arts at Lakota West Freshman on January 27, 2023. Did you enjoy getting involved with the recent Invitational? This might be perfect for you, as it will involve similar needs and similar volunteer roles…just indoor and for Winter Guard! We would LOVE to have both Guard parents and any Band parents involved on this committee! Not familiar with Winter Guard? It is an indoor program in which color guard groups perform a competitive show including flags, sabers, rifles, and dance choreography, and then compete with this show in high school gyms throughout the winter. Lakota West has a strong and growing Winter Guard program, that this year will also be open up to 7^th and 8^th graders! Just as with the Invitational for marching band, this is a fantastic opportunity to serve as hosts as well as a great fundraiser for our programs.
