Lakota School District Convocation 2025–2026
The Lakota West Marching Band is thrilled to help kick off the 2025–2026 school year at the district convocation on Monday, August 11th.
Convocation is a celebration marking the beginning of a new school year for all staff members of Lakota Local Schools. On Monday morning, every staff member in the district will gather at Lakota West for a brief meeting and hear from our superintendent, Dr. Ashley Whitley.
We’re honored that the district has invited the Lakota West Marching Band to open the event! It’s always a blast performing in the gym for our former and current teachers. It’s a high-energy way to start the year!

2025 Community Preview Show

Calendar Raffle Fundraiser
How many Calendar Raffles did you sell? Don’t forget, each raffle ticket purchased is entered into the daily drawing, even if you’ve already won! Just one entry of $20 gives you the chance to win over $5,500 in prizes!
All proceeds from this fundraiser will help offset costs for our upcoming trips to Orlando, FL (BOA Regionals) and Indianapolis, IN (BOA Grand Nationals).
Raffle entries can be purchased via our Website or with the paper copies sent home with students. Anyone, anywhere, can buy a ticket and win! All winnings will be mailed. So, location doesn’t matter.

The Upbeat Club raises significant funds and contributes hundreds of volunteer hours, enabling the excellence we see both on the field and on the stage.
Let’s gather ’round and make this year the best one yet! Our monthly Band/Upbeat Club meetings are your go-to source for all things band. You’ll hear from our Directors, Executive Team, and Committee Leads as they share important updates, exciting news, and this is a great opportunity to connect with other amazing band families. It’s also a great time to ask any questions you may have!
Please join us in supporting our fantastic band program! Meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month at the Lakota West Main Campus, typically in the Band Room, but occasionally in the Cafeteria, Chorus room, or the Hub. We’ll notify you in advance if the location changes.

Tag Day–Our Biggest Fundraiser of the Year!
Our annual Tag Day fundraiser is on Saturday, August 23, from 9 AM to 2 PM!
Band students will go door-to-door in West Chester and Liberty Township neighborhoods, collecting donations to support uniforms and other band expenses.
All band students are expected to participate, and we need many parent volunteers to drive students around their assigned neighborhoods. Each driver will be assigned a group of three to four students.
** Parent Volunteers/Tag Day drivers, please sign up Here. The sooner you sign up, the more likely you can request a specific neighborhood to canvas. Each parent volunteer represents a route to cover!

3rd Quarter Refreshment donations
During the 3rd quarter of football games, our band students take a well-earned break and enjoy cookies and a drink. This year, we’re making it easier for band families by taking cookie and soda shopping off your plate.
We request each student to donate $10 toward the 3rd quarter refreshments.
