Jazz ‘n Cakes is Saturday, April  30!  This is our second biggest fundraiser and is one of the reasons Lakota West Upbeat Club can do things like help bring in Sam Hazo to work with your students, provide scholarships, and similar activities.   PLEASE HELP BY:

  • Selling Tickets:  Every band student is asked to sell 5 – $6 tickets to the Jazz ‘N Cakes pancake breakfast.
  • Volunteering to help at the event:  Friday, April 29 volunteer opportunities include event setup. Saturday, April 30, volunteer opportunities include food prep in the kitchen, dining room management, Market Street assistance, ticket sales at the door, raffle ticket sales, or Mike’s Car Wash booklet sales.  CLICK HERE to sign up to volunteer.
  • Encouraging your student to volunteer at the Jazz ‘n Cakes breakfast or during set-up the evening before:  Student sign-ups to host/hostess, act as servers and bussers, etc. are posted in the band rooms at the freshman and main campus buildings.
  • Telling your friends and neighbors and encouraging them to come!

The live music performance schedule for Jazz ‘n Cakes is:

  • 8am — Lakota West Freshman Jazz Band
  • 8:40am — Plains Jr. School 7th grade Jazz Band
  • 9:10am  — Lakota West Jazz Combo
  • 10am  — Ridge Jr. School 7th Grade Jazz Band
  • 10:30am  — Lakota West Jazz Ensemble
  • 11:15am  — Lakota West Jazz Combo

Thanks to all the students, parents and directors who helped with TryBand on Saturday.  Here are a couple of cool comments that reflect how amazing our students and directors are:

  • “What a great event. Really nice for the students to give their time for the younger kids.”
  • “The pay it forward aspect takes this from a cool event, to a life changing event. Bravo!”

If your student volunteered at Try Band and needs service hours, have them send an email to president@lakotawestbands.org.
