Lakota West 3rd Annual Invitational was a Huge Sucess!
What an incredible day It was and we had a packed house!! The Lakota West Marching Band would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended. It was a truly fantastic and memorable experience.

****** Attention Parents******
After the competition, parents may take their own child, but they must check in with the child’s chaperone. Both the parent and child must be physically present to confirm that the child has been safely picked up and not left behind in Columbus.

** BOA Bag Policy: Music for All encourages spectators to avoid bringing bags. Depending on venue guidelines, small clear bags, diaper bags and emergency medical bags might be allowed. Bag policies help speed up entry and enhance safety. Camera bags are typically allowed at each venue. See venue info for up to date information on each event.

** We are looking for a few more chaperones to support our local competitions. As a chaperone, you’ll take attendance, help ensure students stay safe and arrive on time, and share in the excitement of performances and travel. You may also assist with serving lunch and dinner, and lend a hand to our uniform crew and pit crew as needed.

Midway through the marching band season means it’s time to wash the football uniforms!
All instructions are provided, along with Tide Pods.
Please plan to pick up uniforms and laundering supplies in the Band Room at one of the following times:
- End of practice on October 2nd (8:00–9:00 PM)
- Beginning of practice on October 3rd (5:30–6:30 PM)
All clean uniform items should be returned to the Lakota West Main Band Room on:
- Monday, October 6th between 5:30–6:30 PM (Preferred) or
- Wednesday, October 8th between 5:30–6:30 PM, unless other arrangements are made.

It’s Game Day & Lakota West Band Night!
Students from Ridge Jr. School and Plains Jr. School will be joining our band, bringing the total to nearly 450 performers on the field! Both our Football Band and Competitive Band will be performing, and it’s going to be a spectacular night.

BOA Regionals-Orlando FL & BOA Grand Nationals-Indianapolis, IN
Looking for a fun and meaningful way to be part of your student’s band experience? Join us as a trip chaperone! You’ll help keep students safe, make sure they’re where they need to be, and share in the excitement of performances and travel. Chaperones are the heart of these trips by supporting students, cheering them on, and creating lasting memories together.
A Raptor background check (renewed every 3 years, $18) is required. Chaperones are responsible for their own trip cost, which will be shared once finalized.

** Medication Collection for Band Competition Trips – Orlando & Indianapolis **
We are preparing for the upcoming overnight competition trips to Orlando and Indianapolis, and it’s time to begin collecting medications your student may need during travel.
Medication Drop-Off Details:
- Primary Drop-Off Date: Thursday, October 2rd, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM
- During School Hours: Medications may also be dropped off at Lakota West Main Campus during regular hours.
- Please remember chaperones must carry all medications at all times, so please send in the smallest original container possible. Thanks!
